NOVA IMS is the School of Information Management and Data Science of the Nova University of Lisbon. This School was founded in 1989 as a response to the shortage of senior managers specializing in information management, and to the growing need for the use of information technology.

Today NOVA IMS provides education at the highest level to more than 4.000 students including undergraduates, post-graduates, masters and PhD degree students.

The NOVA IMS' Information Systems Bachelor Program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET. This is the 1st Bachelor Degree in Europe accredited in Information Systems by ABET, a North American accrediting agency, recognized as the worldwide leader in assuring quality and stimulating innovation in applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering technologies.

Ten of NOVA IMS' Master and Postgraduate Programs were ranked by Eduniversal an international agency that publishes annual rankings of the best Masters and MBA programs in the world, in the worldwide TOP of Best Masters 2024 ranking in their categories.

NOVA IMS was the first institute of the Iberian Peninsula joining iSchools, international organization that brings together the leading universities in research and teaching of information science.

NOVA IMS was recognized by Celonis, a world leader in Process Mining, as an Academic Center of Excellence, a prestigious recognition that distinguishes excellence processes in the academic field. Being internationally recognized as the leading global centers for applied education, curriculum development and research in Process Mining, the Celonis Academic Centers of Excellence demonstrate leadership in the community and education of future Process Mining experts. Along with the London School of Economics, Central Michigan University, Arizona State University and 10 other universities, NOVA IMS was selected from a rigorous pool of applicants representing the top 14 schools among the more than 500 that are part of the Celonis community.
